Shooting plan 2

Got inspired by my reading mentioned in the last post, I started to think about the relationship between container and contained. I found that many things became not functional generally when they’re loose/not contained:

  • bed-room
  • bin-outside
  • water-cup
  • food-plate
  • body-clothes
  • cosmetics-bottle
  • quilt filling-cover

It’s similar to the separation of ego and body/body and space, which leads to loose ego and empty body.

If I only want to capture the moments of being empty, I could just photograph the above pairs. However, the point of my idea is the futility of attempts to fill the empty inside. So I thought of the following inappropriate pairs:

  • outside-bed
  • room/house-bin
  • cup-detergent
  • plate-water
  • cover-body

I spent many days thinking about how to show both the emptiness and futility at the same time. Finally I found I had to mix the objects because of the cross-relationships among the objects:

1. Bin in the room/house with the sight of outside. 2. Bed in front of the house. Body in the cover on bed with quilt filling on the side. 3. Empty cup on the table with water and food aside, and a plate of water. 4. Empty bottle on the counter with detergent aside and a cup of detergent. 5. Naked body and a set of clothes.
