SHOOTING DAY 7 & DAY 6&7 EDIT & TIMESTAMP

Forgot to close the window so it’s noisy… I may try closing the bathroom door and turn off the heater next time. And I may want to set up the camera higher to get a better view of the hair in the sink. Didn’t realise the camera had turned off after 30min, so I continued for another 10min…

Couldn’t find a free timestamp application so I have to add it manually in Photoshop… And I just realised I had been exporting photos at 240 ppi instead of 300 ppi from lightroom all the time…

HAIR Shooting Day 1

Spent one day setting up the new camera… I was reading that there’s no function to add date to photos in this camera. I suddenly thought that I could add date and time to the photos so that it would be more obvious, more like a diary or documentation. Tried an application to retrieve shooting time of photos and add date and time for multiple photos, but it’s not free…

Then I finally tried to record the performance. Spent about an hour trying to find a position for the camera in the small bathroom. I wanted my head and the sink in the screen at the same time. The camera stopped in the middle because it’s too hot…

While watching it, I realised that I should focus on the hair in the sink instead of my head, otherwise the falling hair was not obvious enough. And maybe I don’t have to include my whole head, maybe just a part to show the action, otherwise it just takes up too much space in the video. It can also be a bit lighter. And if I want to present this project by a collection of photos and videos, maybe I can also regard this recording as moving images.

While watching the process, I found the view looked fine here:

I put the camera on a paper roll to get this view. I’ll try next time to see if I can make it higher to get a fuller view of the sink.

Also took some photos:
